Happy new year! Selamat tahun baru! 新年快乐! नया साल मुबारक हो! あけましておめでとう! 새해 복 많이 받으세요! bonne année!
A new year marks a new start. But wait, people say look into the past to see the future. So lets look into the past first.
(Caution: long post ahead.)
It has been a good year for me despite the ups and downs.
Looking back into the year of 2009, there were many things that made the year a very special and memorable one.
First of all, I had a most wonderful birthday celebration and birthday presents ever in my life.
I ran for the first time a 10km marathon at Standard Charted KL Marathon 2009.
I got my first DSLR — the Nikon D90 — after dreaming of having one since I was young.
I got totally lost in life, then back on track again.
I went to Cameron Highlands for the first time.
I went for a trip to Melaka for food and photography.
I redesigned my blog for the second time.
I had to make a tough choice in my life to decide which path I want to take.
I went to visit KL Tower for the first time.
I got myself an iPhone 3GS.
I went to Singapore for the first “conscious” time.
And last but not least, I ran for the 2nd 10km marathon at Standard Charted Singapore Marathon 2009.
So basically those are the bigger events happened which made 2009 a year I will never forget.
I have always been skeptical about the practicality of making new year resolutions. I just can’t make sure what I’ve decided to do in January will still remain as what I wanted to do throughout the year.
So nope, I’m not writing new year resolutions here. So formal. But instead, I’m writing new year wishes. Less formal mar like that.
For my personal life, I would really love to travel to more places in 2010. Perhaps to 2 to 3 Asian countries.
I have been living in Malaysia for too long. I want to expand my horizon. I want to see what’s happening in the rest of the world with my own eyes.
So I guess traveling would be my biggest wish in 2010.
Career wise… nah… I really don’t know what should be the next agenda. So I’ll just stay at where I am now and wait for things to change.
As for the rest of the aspects in my life? Just leave them as they are until I figure out what to do.
Life has been good in 2009 and I am hoping for a better one in 2010.
Happy new year once again and wish you all have a prosperous and wonderful 2010!
