Work, entertainment and family

November 3rd, 2008

Last week was busy like hell. During the last few days before the due date of the project, my colleagues and I still managed to go to karaoke to have some fun. We went to Neway Karaoke to celebrate the return of Max, end of the month, salary is out and we worked like cow.

Had lots and lots of nice food there. And sang until no voice.

The next day, we went to Alamanda to farewell 2 of my Indonesian colleagues, cute Sheva and pretty Dina (and Dina’s boyfriend). Dina resigned but Sheva just changed to another team, same office just different room. So we are still seeing her everyday, no difference.

Friday night was disastrous. It was the last day before the new website — which the whole team has been working on it for freaking 7 months — launched. We stayed back and do the final changes until late night. Sophea managed to capture a documentary about the mid night oil burning session. But 1:50 AM was just the begining. We never go home until 4 o’clock in the morning!

Sunday my family came down to KL. Had our lunch at Sungai Wang. Then headed to Low Yat to buy a new LCD monitor. Then I brought them to Pavilion to try out the coffee and toast at Toast Box. They serve traditional kopitiam food such as coffee, yuan yang, toast and boiled eggs.

It was my first time there as well. Queued for almost 20 minutes before our turn. The coffee was very very nice. It has a strong roasted taste and it’s not too sweet.

The french toast tastes very nice too.

My sister ordered this honey toast.

And I had the half boiled eggs.

It comes in set meals. A set of coffee (hot), a thick toast and 2 eggs total RM7++. A good price for the quality of food they served.

Sakae Sushi again

October 27th, 2008

I have no idea how many times I’ve posted pictures of Sakae Sushi. In fact, I’ve been having Sakae Sushi for 2 weekends already.

But I’m going to post it anyway. Went to catch a movie — Tropic Thunder — with Ah Max, Sophea and Kah Wai.

Before we go for dinner at Sakae Sushi, we went to J.Co Donuts for coffee intake in order to maintain the caffein level.

At Sakae Sushi, the one dish you have to order every single time is, the salmon nigri.

This is the main attraction because it’s only RM1.90 for 2 pieces!

The soft shell crab. Ordered every single time as well.

Cha soba, green tea noodle. Didn’t know it’s so nice until last time Kah Wai ordered it.

Sophea ordered the sashimi salad, with fish sperms all over it. She liked it. I mean the salad of course.

And my all time favourite — salmon don. But now they are serving less fish more rice. So sad.

Another sad thing is, just got a message from the big boss asking me to go back to work on Deepavali.

Ole-ole Bali at Sunway Pyramid

October 25th, 2008

I’m posting something happened 1 week ago :p

Last Sunday, went to watch Eagle Eye at Sunway Pyramid with few friends. After the movie, we had our dinner at Ole-ole Bali, Sunway Pyramid.

Together with Cheng Lam.

And Okui.

And also Kah Wai.

The food was super delicious. But of course cheap things not good, good things not cheap.

Okui ordered this ayam panggang with rice or something. Taste very nice.

And this is what I had, lamp chop. Superb I tell you. Highly recommended.

The lighting condition is too dim and not suitable for taking pictures. Didn’t managed to take pictures of other food like the Sate Lilit, the salad and also a piece of cake Kah Wai’s aunt gave to us who happened to be celebrating birthday at the same restaurant too.

It’s going to be a 2-and-a-half-day-holiday (I work half-day on Saturday). Wish all of you happy Deepavali and happy holiday!
